Project Manager Hydrogen - Focus on metals and mining industry m/f/t

Hydrogen is considered a beacon of hope to decarbonise various hard-to-abate sectors and hence could play a crucial role in the energy transition. RWE is working at full speed on various green hydrogen projects across the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, together with our partners in business, industry, research and governments.  
We have built a new Hydrogen team, with this post reporting into to the Head of Hydrogen Commercial.

 

  • Represent the interest of RWE in the development of large-scale decarbonisation projects in the metals and mining industry, esp. steel 
  • Lead all aspects of and coordinate activities of RWE’s project team members, linking renewable energy, production of green hydrogen and further value chain integration (e.g. direct reduced iron (DRI))
  • Structure our RWE approach and enter into discussions and dialogue with relevant parties in close collaboration with internal subject matter experts 
  • Challenge and optimize business cases, integrating inputs from various teams, including technical, market, legal, permitting, regulatory, etc.
  • Coordinate preparation of commercial contracts, such as Memorandums of Understanding, Joint Ventures, and Power Purchase Agreements
  • Collaborate with colleagues from RWE Renewables and RWE Supply and Trading, as well as the H2 Business expert to stay informed about Hydrogen developments
  • Identify,originate and structure hydrogen project development opportunities in line with strategic targets


Your powerful skills 

  • Degree in business, economics, engineering or industrial engineering
  • At least 5-10 years proven experience in project management or execution of asset projects
  • Strong industry expertise and a comprehensive network of partners in the metals and mining/steel value chain incl. raw materials, plant engineering and steel production
  • Sophisticated thinking abilities, incorporating both analytical and conceptual
  • Willingness to travel and work temporarily from abroad
  • Business proficient in English

Advantageous, but not a must 

  • Experience in Hydrogen business
  • Working knowledge of Dutch or German
  • Other spoken languages in addition to the above mentioned
