The Sr. Procurement WTC, Grid, H2 Manager will oversee day-to-day sourcing and purchasing activities to ensure the business  gets the material and services it needs on time, at competitive cost and terms. The role requires coordination with suppliers, negotiation, and supporting business needs with the broader procurement strategy.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Act as a commercial lead on highly complex and high value procurement packages, including contracts for Grid Components
  • Design and implement procurement strategies that balance competitive pricing, supplier risk management, and delivery certainty for large-scale renewable energy projects
  • Lead negotiations with Tier 1 Suppliers on multimillion-dollar agreements, securing favorable outcomes on warranties, performance obligations, escalation clauses, and change order management
  • Oversee preparation of advanced bid analyses, ensuring supplier proposals are levelized across cost, scope, technical compliance, and risk allocation to support transparent decision-making
  • Draft comprehensive award recommendation  documents for executive approval, summarizing procurement strategy, supplier evaluation outcomes, and contract terms
  • Provide expert commercial guidance to internal stakeholders, advising Development, Construction, and Finance teams on contract structures, market pricing trends, and supply chain risks
  • Manage contract execution and administration for critical-path agreements, ensuring all contractual obligations, milestone payments, and submittal requirements are met
  • Proactively identify procurement risks across multiple projects, including supply bottlenecks, labor shortages, and commodity price fluctuations, and propose mitigation strategies
  • Serve as escalation point for supplier disputes, working with Legal and project teams to resolve contractual disagreements and maintain constructive supplier relationships
  • Contribute to portfolio-level planning by forecasting procurement timelines, supplier capacity needs, and cost implications across the regional project pipeline
  • Monitor market intelligence on EPC construction services, advising internal stakeholders on competitive positioning, supplier performance, and emerging trends

 

Job Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of procurement experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively to senior level management.

 

Work Environment:

This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois or New York is $145,000 - $175,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
