Team Lead Tax (m/f/d)

As the TAX Team Lead Poland, you will take a leading role in all aspects of tax support and optimization for the RWE group in Poland, covering a portfolio of companies in the renewable energy industry (wind and solar energy).

Your tasks:

• Take ownership for tax compliance and tax reporting for all Polish RWE entities, overseeing monthly and yearly tax returns calculations and ensuring timely, accurate reporting
• Manage a team of tax specialits
• Supervise and review the calculation of all relevant taxes, ensuring accurate tax declarations 
• Monitor and steer external tax advisors in Poland, including overall responsibility for supervising and managing the respective budget
• Prepare and report comprehensive tax packages using the GTC system for group consolidation.
• Develop and implement cost segregation models for property tax and correct tax depreciation determination
• Review of VAT returns and respond effectively to VAT tax authority audits and inquiries
• Provide strategic tax support for complex restructuring projects, acting as the lead for tax workstreams in mergers (including preparation of ruling requests and handling complex tax matters with Polish tax authorities)
• Collaborate closely with auditors, tax advisors, internal stakeholders, and tax authorities, both locally and at group level
• Identify and implement process optimizations, automation, and innovative solutions for enhanced tax efficiency

Your profile:

• At least 6+ years of professional experience in tax management/accountancy, with significant responsibility for tax compliance and reporting within large corporate groups
• Certified tax advisor qualification or equivalent qualification
• University degree in accounting, finance, economics, law or a related discipline
• Extensive knowledge of Polish tax regulations and experience in handling complex tax structures, mergers and tax disputes
• Effective leadership and management abilities in working with people
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, including excellent command of written and spoken English (C1/C2 level), for effective collaboration with all stakeholders
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple complex projects
• Proactive, solution-driven approach, with openness to innovative improvements and new challenges
