Marine Expert

Functional area: Renewables; Engineering 


Our Marine & Logistics department within RWE Renewables is looking for a Marine Expert to provide expert support on Jack Up Vessels, SOVs, CTVs and any other marine operations to deliver and optimize operational activities across the Offshore Wind fleet.


Your future plans:

  • Support the operational fleet as a centre of competence regarding vessels and marine operations. This includes crew vessel, SOVs, supply vessels as well as heavy lift vessels and jack ups
  • Lead and support all kinds of marine campaigns, such as major component exchange campaigns or scheduled maintenance campaigns using SOVs
  • Define standards, processes, and consistent approaches across the portfolio for vessel surveys, vessel inspections (on-/off-hire etc), CTV/JUV/SOV management
  • Support the procurement processes by reviewing/creating the Scope of Works, tender evaluations and negotiations.
  • Execute vessel on hire surveys
  • Evaluate port layouts and load out proposals
  • Review risk assessments, method statements, lift plans and operating instructions
  • Coordinate internal and external parties such as scheduling, engineering, certification, marine coordination, HSSE, authorities, vessel suppliers, marine warranty surveyor


Your profile:

  • Relevant marine background as Master Mariner or Marine Warranty Surveyor, experience on a jack up vessel beneficial
  • Deep understanding and proven operational experience of all kinds of vessel operations such as jacking, DP, lifting, etc.
  • At least five years’ experience in marine project management.
  • Excellent skills of written and spoken English language
  • Very good communication skills
  • Structured thinking, development of methods and procedures
  • Willingness to travel (UK/CE)
  • Willingness to work offshore for short periods
