Commercial Project Manager Hydrogen (Developer)

Hydrogen is considered a beacon of hope to decarbonise various hard-to-abate sectors and hence could play a crucial role in the energy transition. RWE is working at full speed on various green hydrogen projects across the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, together with our partners in business, industry, research and governments.   


We have built a new Hydrogen team, with this post reporting into to the Head of Hydrogen Commercial.  


Your Future Plans

  • Represent the Hydrogen interest of RWE in the development of large-scale projects and act as internal focal point towards senior management 
  • Hold accountability for delivering commercial part of asset projects within agreed objectives 
  • Ensure adequate resourcing on the project and maintain control of the budget 
  • Supervise and coordinate Hydrogen activities of RWE’s project team members 
  • Coordinate preparation of commercial H2 contracts, such as Memorandums of Understanding, Joint Ventures, and Power Purchase Agreements 
  • Challenge and optimize Hydrogen business cases, integrating inputs from various teams 
  • Enter into discussions, negotiations and dialogue with relevant parties in close collaboration with internal subject matter experts  
  • Collaborate with colleagues from RWE Renewables and RWE Supply and Trading, as well as the H2 Business expert to stay informed about Hydrogen developments 


Your Powerful Skills

  • Degree in business, economics, engineering or industrial engineering 
  • At least 5-10 years professional experience in project management or corporate/ business development  
  • Experience in development and execution of large industry/ asset projects 
  • Have a solid technical understanding of industrial facilities as well as of the energy market and stakeholders 
  • Sophisticated thinking abilities, incorporating both analytical and conceptual 
  • Strong capability to structure yourself  
  • Strong and convincing communication skills towards all hierarchy levels, including exposure to top management level 
  • Willingness to travel and work temporarily from abroad 
  • Business proficient English 


Advantageous, but not a must 

  • Experience in Hydrogen business   
  • Working knowledge of Dutch or German 
  • Other spoken languages
