The Associate, Project Development Core Markets, is responsible for managing key aspects of the project development process, especially those related to land agreements with site owners. The Associate ensures the timely and accurate creation, distribution, editing, and final execution of all land and related agreements that are essential to the successful development of our renewable energy projects. The Associate also helps to manage the project development platform within which all development activity takes place, monitoring and ensuring compliance with the established processes.
Role Responsibilities:
- Site and Project Acquisition - When Project Origination requests a Site Control Agreement to be issued, select the proper document, populate it based on the variables provided, and distribute it to the proper Parties, while posting it into the development system. Coordinate the extensive interactions with multiple internal and external Parties through to execution of the Agreement, all while ensuring compliance with established process
- Project Development Contract Management - Support all aspects of project development by managing the creation of Purchase Orders, processing of invoices with outside vendors and maintaining the platform that ensures the Project Development team has access to up-to-date invoicing data
- Due Diligence Support - Provide support for the review of all projects being acquired and or sold by ensuring all project related agreements have been properly posted to the applicable systems
- Project Level Reporting - Ensure that all Agreements-related reporting is updated and accurate on a weekly basis in applicable project development systems
- Manage and maintain the Project Development System, ensuring quality and enforcing departmental processes while innovating ways to continuously improve the system and processes
- Decision Making-
- Draft and distribute documents/agreements ensuring compliance with department standards and timelines
- Serve as liaison between RWECE Legal and Project Development staff and vendors we are negotiating with
- Prioritization of activities for the various agreements that are pending at any one time
- Manage the sometimes-competing priorities of internal staff and external vendors/landowners
- Develop solutions to challenges and escalate to upper management as appropriate
- Coordinate with key contacts
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 2 years work experience in similar role(s) managing contracts and agreements
- Experience in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities in a detailed manner
- Familiarity with energy or renewable energy a plus
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage company relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Strong communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, with a ‘can-do” attitude, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Prove to have an excellent work ethic - a self-starter who sees things through
- Very well organized and extremely detail oriented
- Ability to manage and prioritize item
- Flexible and adaptable
- Works effectively without close supervision
- Requires effective listening and writing skills such that communication is effective and concise
- Proficiency with Outlook, DocuSign, Excel, and pdf software is mandatory
- Knowledge of Smartsheet or other Management programs a plus
- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $85,000 - $100,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
