The role:

 

The Senior Offshore Wind Consents Manager will have a key role within the development organization. You translate the requirements from the tender into concrete actions and ensure that the design of the wind farm complies with the (environmental) regulations and guidelines. On the other hand, your role is to guide our tender promises towards the implementation phase and support our specialist teams in understanding and implementing our permit and legal obligations. You will also focus on obtaining permits during the development phase; the phase prior to the construction of our projects.

 

You have a good technical insight into energy matters, permit procedures and the legal framework. You work closely with various experts, including lawyers, HSE managers, engineers, ecologists, consultants, governments and external partners.

 

The Senior Wind Consents Manager mainly works from Utrecht. You are part of a developing and motivated team and work together with many international colleagues. The position requires the ability and willingness to travel (internationally) occasionally.

 

 

Your tasks:

 

  • Setting up and implementing an optimal permitting strategy for RWE's existing and future offshore wind projects for the Dutch projects.
  • As a member of the project management team, you coordinate the project's permitting team and ensure that the necessary permits for the project are obtained and maintained.
  • Coordinate and manage permit-related project development activities.
  • Liaison and coordination towards the most important internal and external project components, partners, consultants and contractors.
  • Liaison and coordination towards government and other stakeholders (e.g. offshore regulators, network operators, legal advisors and relevant sea users).
  • If applicable, maintaining contacts with JV partners.
  • Manage the relevant budgets.
  • Proactively sharing lessons-learned and best-practices between projects in the broader portfolio.
  • Ensure a safety-conscious and sustainable environment for the projects.

 

Knowledge and skills:

 

  • Proven competencies in permit management and project development, well organized and able to oversee multiple work streams within a large project.
  • Appropriate people management skills, including motivational and support skills.
  • Positive attitude, taking responsibility for matters, actively identifying threats and opportunities.
  • Creativity in solving complex issues.
  • On the one hand, the ability to balance the different interests of stakeholders, and on the other hand, the ability to influence and convince stakeholders.
  • Very enthusiastic and enthusiastic
  • Able to deal with changing deadlines.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills (Dutch and English).

 

Qualifications and experience:

 

  • A master's degree in a relevant field such as spatial planning, sustainable energy, engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in the field of permit management or similar work areas, preferably in the field of sustainable energy.
  • Knowledge of offshore legislation in the field of environment, spatial planning and mining and of the applicable energy policy.
  • Knowledge of reporting methods, project planning, organization and project management.
  • Experience in the sustainable offshore energy sector is advantageous.
