Offshore Consultation Manager Benelux

RWE Renewables is recruiting an Offshore Consultation Manager for its Benelux offshore development department. RWE is actively participating in upcoming Offshore wind energy tenders in the Netherlands and Belgium.

You will become a project member of one or more dedicated tender teams. Your role will be to manage the ‘proof points’ to be included in the bids, ensuring that for various aspects of a tender, compliant and convincing solutions are offered, aiming for winning rankings of our bids.

These ‘proof points’ are predominantly in the area of ecology, system integration and innovation. The proof points are the ideas with which we distinguish ourselves from our competitors. The Offshore Consultation manager owns one or several proof point(s) and brings them from idea to sound proposals with a clear commitment, to be included in our offshore wind energy bid(s). This will require a good technical understanding, a close cooperation with internal and external experts and the ability to write clear and convincing texts as part of the bids.

The role will require occasional travel and attendance at external meetings.

Key Accountabilities

As an Offshore Consultation Manager you will:

• Act as a project member in tender teams, reporting to the ecology lead, system integration lead, development manager and/or bid manager;
• Manage, develop  and deliver specific innovative solutions to fit the requirements in offshore wind tenders;
• Provide support and advice with regard to process and deliverables in the tender process;
• Facilitate implementation of the innovative solutions in close collaboration with our engineering departments and external partners;
• Liaise on a continuous basis with authorities, partners, and other stakeholders

Knowledge & Skills:

• Demonstrable competence in project management, notably on offshore wind projects;
• Excellent development management skills and experience;
• Ability to negotiate with potential partners, including development and innovation partners;
• A solid understanding of tender requirements and the ability to critically look at the bid documents from the angle of the tendering body;
• Creativity to solve issues and to grab opportunities to improve the bid score;
• Proactiveness to make recommendations and report issues to the Leads/ Development-/Bid Manager.
• Strong self-performance management and delivery focus;
• Persuasion skills, as well as written and oral communication skills;
• Fluent in Dutch and English; German language skills would be advantageous;
• Ability to use Microsoft 365 efficiently (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Experience:

• Proven experience in offshore wind tenders and innovation;
• Knowledge of offshore environmental and spatial planning aspects;
• Good knowledge of methods of project planning, organisation and project management;
• Experience of working in the offshore renewable energy industry.

Qualifications:

A master degree, preferably in renewable energy, engineering, innovation or equivalent qualification.
