Your key tasks and responsibilities:

As a Senior Offshore Structural Engineer your primary responsibilities will be to:

• Supervise the design of primary structural steel for offshore wind turbines as part of the Murakami Tainai Offshore Wind project (村上胎内洋上風力プロジェクト)

• Manage the primary steel structural engineering activities during the FEED/Basic, and Detailed Design stages of the project, and then continue supporting the project on into fabrication and construction stages

• Support the delivery of the primary steel engineering inputs for the CDIT/METI certification process

• Mentor and develop the junior and associate colleagues within the team and across the wider business

• Ensure that all lessons learned from our operating fleet are incorporated into future projects

• Provide technical support to Procurement, Quality and HSSE departments

• Work closely across all interfaces with; internal stakeholders, external design houses, certification authorities, and fabrication contractors to produce cost effective and value-added solutions

Essential skill requirements:

• Educated to degree level in civil or structural engineering, or equivalent experience

• Project management experience in the offshore industry from either design, construction, or operations

• Willingness to travel

• Good communicator and excellent team player

• Fluent spoken and written English and Japanese

Desirable skills:

• Member of a professional engineering body

• Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore structural engineering – preferably with both: monopiles and jacket fixed foundations

• Proven experience supporting renewable construction projects

• The drive and motivation to meet time, cost, and quality targets

• Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business
