Your key tasks and responsibilities:

 

As an Offshore Structural Engineer your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the design of primary structural steel for offshore wind turbines as part of the Murakami Tainai Offshore Wind project (村上胎内洋上風力プロジェクト)

  • Manage the soil-structure interaction activities as part of the design process

  • Assist the structural engineering activities during the FEED/Basic, and Detailed Design stages of the project, and then continue supporting the project on into fabrication and construction stages

  • Mentor and develop the junior and associate colleagues within the team and across the wider business

  • Ensure that all lessons learned from our operating fleet are incorporated into future projects

  • Provide technical support to Procurement, Quality and HSSE departments

  • Work closely across all interfaces with; internal stakeholders, external design houses, certification authorities, and fabrication contractors to produce cost effective and value-added solutions

 

Essential skill requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in civil or structural engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Willingness to travel

  • Good communicator and excellent team player

  • Fluent spoken and written English and Japanese

 

Desirable skills:

  • Member or Aspiring Member of a professional engineering body

  • At least 5 years of experience in offshore structural engineering

  • Proven experience supporting renewable construction projects

  • The drive and motivation to meet time, cost and quality targets

  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business
