About the role:


As Offshore O&M Implementation Manager – Japan in Offshore Operations, you will utilise your skills, experience and talent within a team of O&M specialists to develop and implement O&M strategies for the future.As a representative of RWE, you will also role-model our behaviours, particularly Health, Safety and Environment, working within a team, and pushing boundaries, whilst assisting to develop local capability and shape the O&M strategies in the APAC region. APAC is a growing market for offshore wind and RWE is actively developing a large pipeline of projects in Japan, South Korea and Australia. The primary focus of the role will be on delivering the project pipeline in Japan, with opportunity to support projects in other APAC countries.


 Your future plans:

 

  • Lead and steer the development and implementation of our regional offshore O&M strategies in Japan, ensuring alignment with the global vision of Offshore Operations
  • Represent Offshore Operations as the O&M Implementation Manager on specific development projects within Japan and work closely with other globally based O&M Implementation Managers to ensure consistency of approach and continuous improvement
  • Building local, regional and international O&M networks, developing trusted internal and external relationships with prospective project partners, and promoting the development of local supply chains to deliver offshore O&M capabilities
  • Exploring and developing O&M synergies globally, with particular focus on Japan and the wider APAC region
  • Management and evaluation of design concepts, technical solutions and risks as well as preparation of decision papers for technical and commercial decisions.
  • Ensure continuous exchange on the operational concepts of offshore development projects and the wider operations organisation
  • Providing technical and commercial expertise in due diligence, including emerging technologies, from the design and development stage through to project construction, handover and full commercial operation
  • Preparation and management of contracts including production of tender documents including, evaluation of bids, contract negotiations with suppliers, ports, and effective contract delivery
  • Be responsible for the delivery schedule of the O&M package, identifying technical, commercial and programme issues and solutions to resolve
  • Demonstrate commitment to establishing high efficiency teams and creating an enjoyable and rewarding place to work 

 

Your profile:

 

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering subject, or equivalent experienceProfessional experience in the renewable / conventional energy or maritime industries in Japan, ideally with a business development focus
  • Experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and supply chain on complex development topics
  • Proven project management experience working in multi-disciplinary teams on high value projects
  • Enhanced communication and leadership skills, team oriented with excellent analytical skills, an eye for detail, the ability to manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
  • High level of integrity, reliability, proactiveness, and structured way of working
  • Familiar with Japanese regulatory and HSE regulations and compliance is highly preferred, and with a high HSE culture focus in an industrial environment
  • Business level in both English and Japanese language
  • A willingness to be located in Tokyo with frequent travel in Japan, and occasional business trips around the APAC region and USA and EU
  • An awareness of sensitivity towards and willingness to work through cultural differences between individual APAC cultures and between European and Eastern cultures
