RWE is building Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm. Thor offshore wind farm will be built 22 kilometres off the coast of Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland with a capacity of more than 1 GW. 72 units of SGRE flagship SG 14-236 DD wind turbines generators (WTGs) are planned to be installed. Once fully operational in 2027, Thor will produce green electricity to more than 1 million Danish households.

 

The role: 

 

Your main responsibilities will be service, maintenance and troubleshooting on the 72 offshore direct drive wind turbines complemented by occasional maintenance and troubleshooting on the electrical offshore substation and the electrical land station.

You will have the daily responsibility for the safety within your area and will support to shape an incident free culture.

During the construction phase you’ll be a part of the commissioning team and work closely together with our project colleagues and partners e.g. SGRE in commissioning and taking over the WTGs.

When construction is finalized, you will be a part of the operation team with close collaboration with the senior maintenance coordinator and the wider operations team. Your working location will be Thorsminde and the shift rotation is planned for 1 week on/off with accommodation facilities provided, if required.

 

 

  • Collect valuable lessons learned during the construction phase.
  • Act as team-lead for more junior technicians during routine maintenance as well as troubleshooting or repair tasks.
  • Plan and preform troubleshooting on the wind turbines and substations.
  • Plan and perform BOP maintenance on the WTGs foundations and the substations.
  • Documentation of all work with the help of electronic reporting (e.g. SAP).
  • Preparation of error reports and work instructions.
  • Review and, if necessary, processing of operationally relevant documentation such as. maintenance manuals and installation circuit diagrams.
  • Preparation of RAMS (risk assessments and method statements) for repairs, as well as control of RAMS by external service providers.

 

 

Job requirements and experience: 

 

  • Completed vocational training as an electrician or wind turbine technician or equivalent education is required.
  • 5-10 years of professional experiences as a technician in operating, servicing and maintaining wind turbines. Siemens DD wind turbines.  
  • Experiences in the field of protection systems, SCADA and communication, automation technology. 
  • Experiences in working offshore.
  • Good IT skills (e.g. MS Office, etc.).
  • Good English language skill.
  • Experiences in planning services assignments.
  • Be able to work offshore including GWO and HUET certificates.
