RWE Renewables Denmark A/S
To start in July 2026, full time, permanent

RWE is building Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm. Thor offshore wind farm (TOWF) will be built 22 kilometres off the coast of Thorsminde with a capacity of more than 1 GW. 72 units of Siemens Gamesa’s flagship SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines are planned to be installed. Once fully operational in 2027, Thor will produce green electricity to more than 1 million Danish households.

You will be one of two Operation Controllers (Koblingsleder) for the offshore teams, with main responsibility for safe electrical operation from the local control room in Thorsminde. You will work closely with the maintenance coordinator, engineering team, grid owner and technicians on site. As part of daily operation, you will ensure correct planning, SCADA monitoring, HV switching and electrical worksite preparation in accordance with BEK 1608 and the applicable electrical safety rules.

During the construction phase of the wind farm, the Operation Controller will support commissioning, operational readiness and the build-up of the future electrical safety organisation. Shift rotation is planned for 1 week on/off with accommodation facilities provided, if required. On-call duty will be expected to some extent within the rotation.

About the role

  • Ensure compliance with Zero Incident Policy, occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor and supervise TOWF substations and HV systems from the local control room.
  • Plan and execute switching operations on HV/LV systems in line with BEK 1608 and electrical safety rules.
  • Operate SCADA systems for monitoring alarms, interlocks, system status, and switching readiness.
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance at wind turbines and substations while maintaining safety boundaries.
  • Maintain operational logs, switching documentation, reports, and manifests.
  • Coordinate marine operations and manage operational handovers to the Central Control Room.
  • Support RAMS reviews, toolbox talks, and emergency/on-call response with focus on electrical safety and operational readiness.

Job requirements and experience

  • Strong HSEQ awareness and knowledge of BEK 1608, EN 50110, and electrical safety standards.
  • Vocational training in electrical engineering, SCADA engineering, or similar technical field.
  • Experience in control room operations, electrical operations, or HV asset management.
  • Skilled in HV switching, switching programmes, and operational control of substations.
  • Knowledge of protection systems, SCADA, communication, automation, and network operations.
