RWE is building Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm. Thor offshore wind farm will be built 22 kilometres off the coast of Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland with a capacity of more than 1 GW. 72 units of Siemens Gamesa’s flagship SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines are planned to be installed. Once fully operational in 2027, Thor will produce green electricity to more than 1 million Danish households.

 

Task of the role
Your main responsibilities will be maintenance and troubleshooting of HV sys-tems on the turbines, Offshore substation and Onshore substation. Export cables and the inner array cables, and administration of the HV Safe System of Work for our wind farm. 

During the construction phase of the project you will support the Commission-ing Team of the project with specific tasks linked to electrical safety, familiariza-tion with the electrical equipment, support the packages with O&M related inter-faces, and will in general be supporting the Commissioning Team with day-to-day tasks.

When construction is finalized, you will move on to Operation and Maintenance for Thor with service base in Thorsminde.

Field of responsibility

  • Collect valuable lessons learned during the construction phase
  • Become Authorized as “Operation Controller” according to DS/EN 50110-1:2023
  • Plan and perform switching operations on HV equipment 66/220/275 kV 
  • Control room duties, Alarm handling of substations, high voltage equipment , HV cables etc.
  • Service and Troubleshooting on HV assets On/offshore
  • Documentation of all work with the help of electronic reporting (e.g. SAP)
  • Preparation of error reports and work instructions
  • Review and, if necessary, processing of operationally relevant documenta-tion such as maintenance manuals and installation circuit diagrams
  • Compliance with and testing of occupational health and safety require-ments
  • Preparation of RAMS (risk assessments and method statements) for repairs, as well as control of RAMS by external service providers
  • Proactive development of improvement opportunities and assumption of responsibility for optimization projects
  • Effective promotion of a strong & positiv team spirit

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Successfully completed vocational training as an electrician or automation technician or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of professional experiences as a technician in operating, servicing and maintaining High Voltage equipment / asset   
  • Experiences in the field of protection systems, SCADA and communication, au-tomation technology and network operations 
  • Experiences in working offshore
  • Good IT skills (e.g. MS Office, etc.)
  • Good English language skill
  • Experiences in planning HV services
  • Knowledge of relevant country specific legislation for Denmark
  • Be able to work offshore including GWO and HUET certificates
  • Strong awareness of occupational safety  
  • Proactive teamplayer with positive and solution oriented mindset 
  • Willingness to work in a shift pattern in Thorsminde from 01/2026 onwards

 

Until January 1, 2026 you can be based anywhere in Denmark and travel to our sites but from January 1, 2026 you must be based on commuting distance from Thorsminde.
