We are seeking an experienced Director, ESCO Sales professional to join our RWE Clean Energy team. This position will target clients in primarily the Federal Market but will also interact with the State, Local Government and K-12 markets. The position will be responsible for managing the current ESCO sales group. The position will be responsible for the origination, screening, and closing of distributed energy generation opportunities Energy Efficiency/Performance Contracting Sales. You will work with various teams across the RWE organization (business development, proposal generation, and project development and engineering) to achieve annual goals. This position will report to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, DCE and will contribute directly to the achievement of RWE Clean Energy financial and strategic goals.
Role Responsibilities:
- Working closely with team members to identify, screen and capture Energy Efficiency/Performance Contracting Sales opportunities
- Identifying, negotiating, and closing Energy Efficiency/Performance Contracting Sales in the markets RWE-DCE serves
- Collaboration with internal and external teams in support of proposals, presentations, and other renewable energy sales pursuits. Achieving sales goals and revenue objectives
- Working within Customer Relationship Management software to upload, track and grow the sales pipeline, progressing these opportunities to contract/task order award
- Traveling to customer engagements and sales presentations
- Attending key renewable energy trade shows and conferences to uncover distributed generation opportunities
- Developing beneficial industry relationships and strategic partners to gain competitive advantage in the markets we pursue
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor’s Degree (technical and/or business degrees preferred)
- Other certifications in sales and/or program management are a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development in the ESCO market
- Successful track record of originating and closing Energy Efficiency/Performance Contracting Sales deals
- Experience in originating, pursuing and contracting with Energy Service Performance Contracts and similar vehicles
- Experience managing direct sales personnel
- Experience in negotiating and closing solar and battery storage deals with Electric COOPs and municipal utilities, regulated utilities, and other off takers
- Able to client utility bills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Self–starter, able to work independently and in a team environment
- Able to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York is $146,000 - $200,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
