Your role

 

The RWE Renewables (RWER) Taiwan team are expanding and looking for entrepreneurial individuals with a growth mindset to join a fast expanding team in a dynamic environment, as part of a larger global organisation.
The Permitting & Consents Manager is part of the offshore development team of the local subsidiary in Taiwan. The position provides support related to the environmental and permitting activities of early and advanced development stage renewable energy projects, as well as facilities under construction and in operation. The role is responsible for all aspects of developing both fixed and floating offshore wind projects in Taiwan including all permits and consents required for the development and construction of the projects.

 

Your future plans

 

  • Business development: Support the business development activities in fixed and floating offshore wind in Taiwan with respect to:
    • Lead and/or support all project consenting activities for offshore wind projects under development by RWER Taiwan.
    • Manage consultants delivering environmental survey campaigns, studies and permits covering areas such as ornithology, cetaceans, fisheries, and onshore ecology.
    • Manage (or support management of) consultants delivering Environmental Impact Assessments for sites, including ensuring appropriate project envelopes are consented and risks are reduced.
    • Manage and/or support EPA Panel Reviews for EIAs.
    • Contribute to bids into Taiwan capacity auctions where required, including supporting site recordation applications.
    • Lead and/or support in delivery of post-auction permitting for offshore wind projects in Taiwan (including Coastal Management Report, Establishment Permit and Working Permit).
    • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that changes to the permitting regime and overall development process are understood and well communicated.
  • HSE: Promote our high HSE standards and procedures for offshore wind, share local insights and ensure that global best practices and learnings are implemented locally.
  • Governance & Administration: Work within the local offshore wind development team organisation, and contribute to procurement and recruitment processes as required.

 

Your profile

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences or the equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience with permitting and environmental compliance for capital/infrastructure projects in Taiwan.  2+ years demonstrated experience with permitting and environmental compliance for renewable energy projects in Taiwan.
  • Experience in an offshore wind development company is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, negotiating and oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Technical knowledge of Taiwanese permitting processes and regulatory requirements relating to development, construction, and operations of energy projects. 
  • Excellent oral and written Mandarin and English skills.
