Finance Manager

An exciting 12‑month opportunity has arisen to join an established Accounting team in RWE’s Flexible Generation business. Our team is responsible for:

• Group reporting for the FlexGen UK companies
• Month‑end close activities
• Managing the external audit process

We also provide finance business partnering support to Controlling and other departments across RWE, helping them understand financial performance and make informed decisions.

As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality financial reporting and supporting the wider business with accurate and timely information.  The key responsibilities are:

• Own and deliver fixed asset accounting for the RWE Generation UK group of companies
• Support Finance Business Partners in Controlling with fixed asset queries and analysis
• Perform property income and cost analysis, including management of accruals and prepayments
• Analyse balance sheet and income statement movements and provide insightful commentary
• Prepare statutory accounts for relevant UK entities
• Work closely with external auditors on interim and year‑end topics
• Support colleagues across the team to deliver a high‑quality, efficient accounting service

Job requirements and experience

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
• Experience in fixed asset accounting, ideally within a complex, multi‑entity environment
• Experience using SAP S/4HANA and CCH Accounts Production (desirable, not essential)
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g. strong use of formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to speak up, challenge, and influence stakeholders
• Inquisitive mindset, solution‑oriented and comfortable improving existing processes
• A strong team player who enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge
