Technical Contracting Manager E-BoP Offshore (Coventry/ Swindon)

  • Responsible for preparation of technical documentation for Electrical-BoP Offshore-tenders (for on/offshore substations and array/export cables) in close collaboration with procurement, engineering and resources assessment teams and the regional project teams.
  • Ensuring consistency and transfer RWE’s common technical standards and requirements into project specific requirements, coordinating the input of engineering and regional project teams.
  • Evaluating offers; identify and evaluate deviations to RWE’s requirements in close collaboration with procurement, engineering and regional project teams.
  • Responsible for coordination and leading technical negotiations of projects in close alignment with procurement, engineering and regional project teams resulting in negotiated/signed contracts.
  • Develop and implement technical standards and requirements in close collaboration with engineering, HSE and regional project teams.
  • Develop and implement technical guarantees for contracts in close collaboration with procurement, engineering and regional project teams.
  • Capture lessons learned out of the contracting processes as well as from stakeholders in RWE and support LCoE-reduction initiatives.



  • Bachelor or Master Degree (preferred) or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience in contracting of technical products and/or experience in project management, especially of offshore wind farm projects or other infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive experience evaluating technical requirements against economic benefits through all phases of project life. Sound commercial knowledge and understanding of interfaces between commercial and technical contracts.
  • Very good technical understanding of substations and array/export cables, their subsystems, their functionalities and their interfaces within the offshore wind farm and basic understanding of offshore logistics.
  • Good knowledge of engineering regulations and standards and of operation and maintenance activities of offshore wind farms.
  • Strong negotiation influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of key stakeholders on commercial, operational and technical issues.
  • Planning and organizational skills including effective prioritizing.
  • Team orientated with interdisciplinary interest and able to develop effective working relationships across regions and able to work in international teams, across functions and countries.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
