As the Chief Engineer EC&I you will be Responsible to act as global technical authority and to define technical standards across the full project lifecycle in a global environment as well as to make complex technical decisions which add value to the business by ensuring technical advice and decision making in the respective discipline “EC&I”. Competency development, best practice sharing and standardization in the respective discipline “EC&I” will be a key task of this role combined with establishing an internal and external network collaborating with the industry and serving as external representation for.

 

About the role

 

  • Serving as global technical authority incl. key recommendations / escalations in relation to the specific discipline EC&I with a focused business and stakeholder orientation
  • Acting as key advisor to the top management for all relevant technical decisions also in a strategic context related to the discipline EC&I
  • Establishing and approving global technical standards, specifications and procedures for the respective discipline in line with safety and business needs
  • Sharing best practice and consistency of approach across the engineering teams in relation to EC&I focusing on LCOE optimization whilst chasing advanced technical solutions and innovation
  • Evaluating technical readiness of engineers to progress through the technical career path (TCP) in the EC&I discipline, own the TCP relevant aspects of the EC&I discipline
  • Shaping industry trends and standards to the benefit of the business
  • Serving as ambassador in promoting the external reputation of the company’s Engineering excellence (e.g. towards future partners, supply chain, regulators, standard institutions)

 

Job requirements and experience 

 

  • University / Postgraduate (Master’s Degree) or bachelor’s degree in combination with completed vocational training in the EC&I area
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in respective technical discipline
  • Experience considered Advantageous: · Planning and managing delivery of complex projects; Supervision and/or coaching junior colleges
  • Profound strategic understanding of the Offshore Wind business and the related technology developments related to the discipline EC&I
  • Ability to analyze, understand and solve complex technical issues
  • Subject matter specialist with an in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, external regulation, and industry best practices
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
  • Business fluent English language skills, additional language
