We have a fantastic opportunity for Shift Operations & Maintenance Technicians to join us at Staythorpe Power Station!
An exciting future awaits Staythorpe as we transition to providing remote support for our CCGT portfolio, all from our brand-new state of the art control room.
Staythorpe power station is also one of the proposed locations for CCS within RWE Generation UK, which will be a vital part of allowing us to achieve our ambition to be Carbon neutral by 2040.
Main Purpose of the Role
As a member of the Operations and Maintenance Team, you will contribute towards delivering the safe, reliable and commercial performance of our portfolio. The post holder will be responsible for operating Staythorpe plant locally from the Fleet Control Room, operation of other fleet CCGT’s remotely and carrying out plant O&M routines in line with our procedures. This will include fault diagnosis and breakdown recovery. This broad range of tasks will develop your skills and promote your own development.
We will require you to perform O&M duties on a shift basis as required, as well as collaborating with site-based maintenance team, supporting with plant outages and recommissioning as required. As the trend towards growing volumes of renewable generation continues, you should expect maintenance routines to form a growing part of your core role.

Knowledge & Skills
- Recognised engineering or operations background, or craft skill in electrical, mechanical, or C&I discipline (HNC, ONC, or equivalent).
- Prior process operations and/or maintenance experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and other relevant IT systems.
- Self-motivated and flexible, able to work independently while supporting the team.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, regulations, and directives.

- Understanding of safety management systems, including permit-to-work systems.
- Flexible and agile approach to work, including flexible hours and skill development opportunities at multiple sites and technologies.
What we will offer you
- An annual base salary from approximately £43,000 to £50,000 per year
- Shift allowance of over £12,000 per year
- Up to 10% annual bonus opportunity of your base salary
- A personal retirement savings plan – if you put in 5%, we will top up by a further 10% and you will get life assurance worth 4 x annual salary
