We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join us at Staythorpe Power Station in Nottinghamshire! The largest CCGT Power Station in England with the potential for retrofitting Carbon Capture and Storage to provide the UK with decarbonised security of supply.
Utilising your background knowledge and experience in the field of Electrical Engineering, specifically in modern heavy industry, you will be expected to provide a high level of asset specific technical knowledge and competence within discipline area to the Operations and Maintenance team. Supporting the technicians in order to deliver challenging operational, technical and commercial targets. Maintain plant area knowledge and expertise within maintenance discipline ensuring risk based maintenance techniques are applied to deliver safe, flexible and reliable plant.
About the role
- Health, Safety & Environmental compliance: Ensure compliance with legislative and corporate standards for plant maintenance, supporting Central targets related to safety and operational practices, including Mission Zero, NWoW, and KPIs.
- Proactive & Reactive asset maintenance management: Develop / enhance proactive maintenance management with a focus on continuously improving maintenance practices with an evolving Asset strategy, whilst providing first line complex fault finding and rectification.
- Develop maintenance processes to deliver the commercial performance of the asset: Manage stakeholder interfaces, collaborate with E&O and Operations, support commercial targets, develop maintenance strategies and balance cost with asset performance.
- Budget management and cost control: Develop medium-term maintenance budgets, manage expenditure, prioritize maintenance, and align contracts with Central guidelines.
- Engender a culture of innovation: Make decisions balancing short-term commercial performance with controllable costs and long-term asset integrity, while developing the asset's capability to deliver optimal commercial performance.
- Management of staff, competence and development: Promote staff engagement, wellbeing, and continuous development supporting RWE’s growth.
- Engagement with the Wider RWE Business: Manage stakeholder engagement across teams, foster organizational buy-in at all levels, and provide flexible management to support RWE fleet assets.
Knowledge & Skills
- Senior technician-level maintenance expertise with the ability to influence engineers and management, while fostering a strong team environment.
- Qualified to HNC / Degree Level in relevant Engineering Discipline and Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Possess strong team working skills , able to operate in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional environment with the ability to deal with constantly changing priorities.
- Experienced in the management of complex plant issues, and able to provide advice and guidance to operations, maintenance and engineering.
- Possess sound knowledge on power generation, or similar Heavy Industry, safety management systems including system safety rules ensuring maintenance compliance of plant and equipment policies & procedures within discipline area.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, regulations and directives.
- Flexible and geographically agile whilst customer & service focussed.

- An expected starting salary from approximately £53,000 to £75,000 depending on experience and up to 15% annual bonus
