Senior Automation Engineer (Contract)

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Automation Engineer with strong trading finance domain expertise, focused on Back Office, Accounting, and Risk processes, with experience in automation and GenAI-driven solutions.

The role will transform manual, spreadsheet-driven workflows into automated, scalable, and intelligent processes across APAC.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate core processes:
• Trade & position reconciliation
• Margin and broker reconciliation
• Cash forecasting and FX reconciliation
• Invoice generation and settlements
• Confirmation generation and standardisation
• Build solutions using:
• Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Query)
• Excel automation (VBA, Office Scripts)
• Python (scripting where needed)
• Apply GenAI (e.g., Copilot, LLMs, Agentic AI) to:
• Automate reporting and commentary
• Extract data from documents (invoices, broker statements)
• Enable validation, anomaly detection, and workflow assistants
• Simplify and standardise processes to reduce manual effort and operational risk
• Work directly with Back Office, Accounting, and Risk teams to deliver practical solutions

Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in trading finance / banking / commodities environments
• Good understanding of:
• Reconciliation, settlements, invoicing
• Cash forecasting and FX processes
• Hands-on automation experience with:
• Power Platform / Excel automation / Python
• Practical experience with GenAI tools and AI-assisted automation
• Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions independently
