Are you a seasoned Compensation & Benefits expert looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact across multiple markets in the APAC region? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team. Based in Singapore, you will play a crucial part in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive compensation and benefits programs tailored to various markets, including Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, India, and Indonesia. You will also be responsible for overseeing and leading the payroll operations in the region. This includes directly managing and guiding a payroll specialist.
 

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement compensation and benefits strategies that meet the specific needs of different  markets.
  • Market Research: Conduct extensive market research and benchmarking to ensure our compensation packages remain competitive and in line with industry standards.
  • Advisory Role: Provide expert guidance on APAC compensation and benefits matters to HR teams and business leaders. 
  • Review Management: Oversee the annual salary review process, bonus schemes, and benefits administration. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll across all countries in the region. 
  • Compliance: Develop, document and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base covering payroll, personal income tax, social security, and benefits for each jurisdiction. Ensure all compensation, benefits and payroll practices comply with local laws and regulations. Fulfil all audit and reporting requests promptly, including statutory, external, and internal requirements.
  • Global & Regional Collaboration: Work with the global Reward Team based in Germany and the UK to maintain consistency and alignment with global policies and practices. Establish close partnership with APAC HR team and Finance and Legal teams. Foster collaborative relationships with external vendors such as payroll vendors, market data providers, insurance brokers and tax advisors etc. 
  • Data Analysis: Analyze compensation and benefits data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our reward programs.
     

 

Your powerful skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a compensation and benefits consultant role or within a multinational company in banking and financial services sector.
  • Proven expertise in compensation and benefits, with a strong focus on Singapore.
  • Knowledge of and experience of having dealt with compensation and benefits practices in at least two other markets out of Japan, China, Australia, India, and Indonesia.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional Asian languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the region.
