As Head of Development Services APAC you will be responsible for developing a pool of highly skilled and committed industry experts undertaking various project development roles (e.g. project managers, bid managers, etc.) in the APAC region by providing tier one leadership and mentoring. Additionally, as part of your responsibilities you will be responsible for ensuring sufficient headcount and allocation of FTE to projects in the region. Furthermore you will lead the charge on ensuring and promote best practice and project development standards across the region, developing projects from origination to FID/ FC and optimizing value at all wind development projects in APAC working in close collaboration with your own team and international peers.

 

As such, you will form an integral part of the regional management team working closely with the market/country managers across the region and regional department heads and the regional Director for APAC whom you will also be reporting into directly.

 

Your role

  • Maintain pool of project development roles within the APAC region.
  • Hiring and balancing standardized development roles as needed by project activity in the region by ensuring sufficient headcount and allocation of resource to projects in the region.
  • Supporting the country and project development leads in the region to develop each project through to FID/FC including participation and success in respective tenders/auctions (herein in close collaboration with the wider supporting functions from within our organization)
  • Implementing and ensuring application of best practice and project development standards across the APAC portfolio
  • Identifying, evaluating and driving project value optimization ensuring minimal LCOE and other business case factors in the region to ensure successful FID/ FC
  • Provide pipeline steering, planning and reporting for all development activities in the region
  • Provide consistent origination support to the development region, ensuring a healthy pipeline in line with strategy and growth targets
  • Work closely involved with and provide support to Development Optimization team to ensure full alignment with regional needs and derive value adding global processes/ structures, e.g., Actively involve and bring regional perspective/needs into global development process optimization projects (e.g., further SODAS development)
  • Support lessons learned from individual projects by project teams and fed into centrally steered and administered lessons learnt and knowledge sharing process

  

Your profile 

  • Relevant university degree or equivalent
  • Development services or development experience in delivering complex infrastructure projects of commercial, technical and regulatory boundary conditions, ideally in the offshore renewables industry supported by a proven history of leading and developing highly skilled and experienced teams
  • Good commercial understanding paired with a equally solid administration and interpersonal skills bringing the best out of complex organizations
  • Strong QHSE and wellbeing mindset and overview
  • English working level proficiency is mandatory, Japanese or Korean language skills a plus
