As a Senior Technical Contracting BOP Onshore you will provide the BoP Technical Contracting support to our Renewable Onshore Energy Business in Australia, providing expertise for our assets in Development and Construction with focus on the preparation and negotiation of Civil and Electrical Balance of Plant (C&E-BoP) contracts.
Your tasks:

Being point of contact and taking technical responsibility for the Technical Contracting of the C&E-BoP in close collaboration and alignment with Procurement, Engineering, WTG Technical Contracting and the regional project teams:

Prepare technical documentation for C&E BoP-tenders

Ensure consistency and transfer RWE’s common technical standards and requirements into project specific requirements, coordinating the input from the main internal stakeholders

Evaluate offers; identify and evaluate deviations to RWE’s requirements in close collaboration with the main internal stakeholders

Coordinate and lead technical negotiations for projects resulting in negotiated/signed contracts

Develop and implement technical standards and requirements in close collaboration with Engineering

Capture lessons learnt out of the contracting processes as well as from stakeholders in RWE and support LCoE-reduction initiatives

Support the technical due diligence of the C&E-BoP Contracts of projects (e.g. mergers & acquisitions), review and promote technical solutions detailing any subsequent risks and make proposals for technical and commercial decisions

Identify new opportunities in the market re. contractors for BoP design and execution; lead benchmarking, prequalification and selection of contractors

Collaborate with Engineering in improving specifications and harmonizing designed solutions and specifications based on local requirements

Collaborate with colleagues in the Procurement, Development and Construction departments, and in the global Technical Contracting Community of Practice within RWE Renewables
Your profile:
-
Bachelor or Master Degree (preferred) or equivalent in an engineering discipline, favorably in Civil or Electrical Engineering.

Experience in contracting of technical products and/or experience in project management, especially of wind farm projects or other infrastructure projects
-
Ability to evaluate technical requirements against economic benefits through all phases of project life. Sound commercial knowledge and understanding of interfaces between commercial and technical aspects

Good technical understanding of Civil-BoP and Electrical-BoP

Basic knowledge of engineering regulations and standards

Strong negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of key stakeholders on commercial, operational and technical issues

Planning and organizational skills including effective prioritizing

Team orientated with interdisciplinary interest and able to develop effective working relationships across regions and able to work in international teams, across functions and countries

Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel domestic and internationally
-
Good communications skills fluent in English (speaking and writing). Additional languages skills are beneficial such as Spanish, Italian or German

Social competence, high level of engagement and intercultural mind set
