Offshore HSE Advisor Development Poland

Our Team is looking for an experienced HSE Advisor in Poland. Role designated as HSE support for Polish offshore development projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The HSE Advisor is responsible for providing independent, expert, and professional advice and guidance to the Polish Development Projects teams and wider country management on all health, safety and environmental (HSE) issues, actively participate in and promoting a high standard of HSE awareness and  HSE culture at across the Polish Offshore Development Project portfolio
  • Promoting RWE Offshore We Care within the Project Teams to ensure that a culture of care is embedded across the project lifecycle.
  • Maintenance of  HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) risk registers in relation to allocated offshore development activities for projects where RWE lead development.
  • Liaising and interfacing with Procurement on HSE topics related to allocated offshore development activities for projects where RWE lead development and being a point of contact for Polish Offshore Procurement for the contractor evaluation process to ensure contractors selected meet the RWE Offshore HSE requirements.
  • Produce, review and update HSE related documentation required by the allocated offshore development activities for projects where RWE lead development
  • Proactively support and advise line/project management in meeting their HSE responsibilities (incl. but not limited to risk assessments) with HSE technical, organizational and HSE procedural as well as Polish HSE compliance advice.
  • Engage and develop relationships with development teams to eliminate and reduce risks, develop HSE culture on projects and adherence to local and RWE HSE standards and rules
  • Attend Project meetings, Project related site visits and project technology reviews with sub-contractors & clients in relation to offshore development (as required) and as directed by Team Lead Offshore HSE (Development & Construction) (EU)
  • Supporting evaluation of potential port/project locations such as lay down areas, port infrastructures, O&M buildings, Warehouses etc. Support the Marine and Logistics on vessel selections with regards to HSE matters and Polish HSE Legal Requirements.
  • Providing HSE assurance of the Polish Development offices through HSE Monitoring and HSE compliance assessment.
  • Enacting the regulatory role of H&S specialist Based on Article. 23711 § 5 of the Polish Labour Code
  • Build relationships with key stakeholder both internal and external.

 

Required qualifications & competencies:

  • Degree in Health and Safety related discipline, engineering / safety engineering or similar.
  • A Level 3 or higher qualification in an environmental discipline in Environmental Management.
  • Relevant audit qualification such as ISO 45001 internal auditor, along with an Incident root cause analysis qualification.
  • They should also be a member of a relevant industry body (i.e. IOSH, IIRSM, CIEH, BOHS)
  • GWO Basic Safety Training certification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as HSE professional, preferably in Offshore Wind, energy or oil and gas sectors.
  • Be able to demonstrate a flexible, practical and proactive approach to managing operational HSE challenges.
  • Experience in Polish Regulatory compliance for HSE matters for offshore, onshore and office related activities
  • Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining a certifiable HSE Management System.
  • Self-initiative, reliable, systematic and proactive with a customer orientated approach.
  • Mobile, able to work under pressure, team-oriented.
  • Good written and spoken English, plus local language written and verbal skills
  • Good health, with general all round fitness to work in an offshore environment
  • Driving licence is essential

 

Additional advantageous qualifications & competencies

  • Relevant training on dealing with hazards and HSE standards related to the Offshore Wind sector
  • Experience of design of renewable technologies and mechanical, electrical and technical systems, process engineering and advising on HSE technical matters relating to these.
  • Experience in Project Development/ construction projects and contractor management.
  • Experience in internal and external Stakeholder management.
