This is an exciting opportunity to join RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, one of Europe’s largest renewable energy players. The Global Project Management Department is hiring a Global Project Manager (GPM) to support our activities in Italy for onshore wind, PV and storage.

You will join the international GPM Department within the Strategy Directorate, which coordinates and optimizes a multi-GW pipeline and manages financial investment and DEVEX decisions. You will have the opportunity to provide direct contribution to the execution of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia growth strategy, working along-side with major stakeholders, in particular with the Investment & Valuation and Commercial Analysis Teams.

Your Tasks:

• Manage approval processes for development projects, including preparation of approval documents, competitive tender (Subsidy/PPA) submissions, and final investment/DEVEX decisions. Prepare and present investment business cases to the RWE Renewables Europe & Australia Board, jointly with the Italian Country Head of Development
• Provide advisory support to senior management, bridging development, commercial, and financial aspects of late-stage projects
• Guide developers in using the Developer Financial Model (DFM) to assess project costs, revenues, and financial performance.
• Support project teams and developers by managing internal investment approvals process (e.g., FIDs, DEVEX, auctions), periodic review of financial assumptions, and coordination of project team meetings
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Italian development pipeline, supporting the Country Head in strategic reviews and project optimization
• Serve as a point of contact for various departments (e.g., Commercial, Investment & Valuation, Operations, Construction, Controlling, Engineering, Procurement, Transactions) to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration
• Update CAPEX tool and profitability radar asset assumptions for Italian reference project, collecting necessary approvals from various departments
• Support the Transactions team in defining sales strategies for Italian projects, drafting the assumptions book, managing due diligence and liaising with potential buyers
• Build and maintain industry knowledge through supplier relationships to support project and product optimization
• Provide support for optimization of complex onshore wind, solar and storage projects, ensuring the sharing of knowledge and best development practices across the GPM and European development teams
• Support the Italian GPM team activities

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, science or related field
• Several years of professional project management experience, preferably within the Italian market
• Strong financial appraisal skills, analytical abilities, and expertise in cost/ revenue modelling and project optimization for onshore wind, solar, or storage assets
• Excellent influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to convey complex topics clearly and succinctly
• Confident in working under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously 

• Relevant experience in the renewable energy sector
• Sound understanding of onshore wind, solar, and storage development processes
• Detailed knowledge of wind turbine, solar, or storage supply industries
• Native Italian speaker with business fluent command of English. Further languages, especially German, would be a plus
