RWE Renewables is seeking a highly motivated Production Supervisor to join our Rampion Operations Team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our offshore wind farm, ensuring safe, effective, and efficient delivery of all operational activities while maximising daily production.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will work on and supervise a shift-based (7 days on, 7 days off) team of 20+ personnel, managing operations, maintenance, and safety across the wind farm. You will be responsible for ensuring the team maintain turbine availability, optimising resource utilisation, and facilitating continuous improvement.
About the Role:
- Leadership Role: Position requires someone who can look at the bigger picture, evaluate, and make rational and reasoned decisions
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily offshore wind farm operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and production maximisation
- Maintenance Planning: Through a team effort, the Production Supervisor aims to minimise turbine downtime through data-driven maintenance prioritisation
- Safety Compliance: Enforce RWE Wind Turbine and HV Operational Safety Rules as Operational Controller and Safety Coordinator (Control Person)
- Budget Control: Manage an operational budget, balancing cost savings with operational integrity, ensuring procurement practices and rules are met
- Contract & Stakeholder Management: Oversee contracts (CTV vessels, marina services, port and IT) and liaise with key stakeholders, including the National Grid and contractors
- Performance & Revenue Impact: Monitor site production (~£200M annual revenue) and optimise operational efficiency
- Emergency Response: Support site emergencies, coordinating mitigation and recovery efforts
- Proactive and sustained improvement initiatives, as requirements change, require someone who can visualise, plan and implement continuous improvement strategies to advance all activities onsite
Job Requirements:
- Experienced communicator, able to communicate effectively, including towards collective members of offshore and onshore teams
- Experience overseeing operational teams in an offshore wind environment or other production-based environment
- Proficient SCADA & Data Analysis Skills – Ability to interpret SCADA and condition monitoring data to maximise turbine availability and optimise performance
- Technical Safety Compliance focus, applicant should be able to enforce the RWE Wind Turbine and HV Operational Safety Rules as Operational Controller and Safety Coordinator (Control Person)
- Capable of making real-time operational decisions that impact turbine uptime, grid compliance, and emergency response
- Highly computer literate – Familiarity with SAP, SCADA systems, and offshore work management tools, skilled in using standard MS Office applications and bespoke software packages
- Health & Safety Leadership – Comprehensive working knowledge of offshore HSE legislation, holding IOSH or NEBOSH certification would be beneficial. The role holder is an ambassador for the safety of persons onsite, ensuring standards are maintained and, where required RCA’s and improvements are implemented
- Upholding Operational Standards – Ensuring offshore procedures, safety rules, and work instructions are consistently followed and enforced
- Contract & Supplier Management – Experience overseeing key contracts and managing the relationship and procurement matters of contractors(CTV charters, marine services etc)
Advantageous but not essential:
- Offshore Wind Industry Background – Experience in offshore wind farm operations, electrical/mechanical maintenance, or the wider offshore energy sector
- Operational Experience with Offshore Assets – Practical knowledge of offshore wind farm operations, including turbine maintenance, marine logistics, and HV switching
- Advanced Safety Authorisations – Experience working under WTSR, RWE Operational Safety Rules, or similar HV safety frameworks
- LEAN or Continuous improvement background/training
