About the Role:
- Turbine Performance Optimisation – Minimise downtime by prioritising maintenance using condition monitoring, SCADA data, and long-term plans
- Daily Operations Planning – Develop efficient daily schedules for manpower and vessel use to maximise turbine availability
- Safety & Compliance – Act as Operational Controller under Wind Turbine Safety Rules and System Controller under RWE Operational Safety Rules
- Incident & Downtime Management – Record, investigate, and report operational incidents while conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Grid & Regulatory Management – Liaise with RWE Central Control Room and OFTO to manage grid events and ensure compliance
- Vessel & Personnel Coordination – Direct vessel movements to ensure task completion and personnel safety offshore
- Emergency Response & Procedure Development – Develop, test, and implement emergency procedures while acting as Emergency Coordinator when required
- Data & Reporting Responsibilities – Maintain accurate maintenance records in SAP, report on compliance, downtime, and turbine availability
- Financial & Operational Impact – Directly oversee £250 million annual revenue and manage operational expenses of £5 million
- Stakeholder Management – Engage with internal and external stakeholders, affecting the reputation of RWE and Rampion
Job Requirements:
- Highly Organised & Proactive – Able to manage complex schedules, prioritise tasks, and respond quickly to changing operational needs
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to interpret SCADA data, report performance using this data to optimise turbine performance
- Safety & Compliance Focused – Proficient understanding of health and safety legislation and able to determine next steps required to ensure person's safety
- Effective Communicator & Team Player – Able to coordinate and present to offshore technicians, vessel operators, and onshore production/engineering team members
- Decision-Making Under Pressure – Capable of making critical operational decisions that affect turbine availability and grid compliance, able to take control and manage in emergency scenarios
- Ability to maintain standards, translating and ensuring working procedures are carried out reliably and effectively in all the work undertaken
- Offshore & Shift Work Adaptability – Willingness to work a 12-hour shift pattern (7 days on, 7 days off). On rare occasions working offshore
Advantageous but not essential:
- Background in wind farm operations, electrical/mechanical maintenance, or offshore energy industries
- Training in weather patterns, forecasting and interpreting weather conditions with marine logistics
- Work with management systems such as SAP, HSE reporting Apps
- Qualifications regarding safety rules in offshore wind or power generation sector
