RWE Renewables Management UK Limited seeks a skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our Rampion Windfarm O&M team. As a key team member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of our offshore wind farm. You will provide leadership, guidance, and support to technicians in areas such as work planning, safety, technical guidance, quality, and conduct.

 

About the role

  • Function as a bridge between the onshore and offshore teams, optimizing maintenance, servicing, and inspection of wind turbines and balance of plant
  • Recruit and develop wind turbine technicians, including providing appropriate training and coaching
  • Coordinate site activities with key contractors and maintenance coordinators
  • Optimize planning and performance of site maintenance delivery to increase resource efficiency and maximize production
  • Ensure all teams work in a coordinated manner through standardized working practices
  • Provide advice to the onshore team on operational issues
  • Conduct maintenance and servicing of wind turbines and balance of plant
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts and travel to other sites
  • Proactively assist in all areas of site operations, including projects, spares, and non-routine works
  • Develop and optimize Approved Working Procedures (AWPs) under the RWE Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSRs)
  • Optimize planned maintenance regimes to maximize availability and minimize the cost of offshore work

 

Job requirements and experience

  • Qualified wind turbine technician or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive knowledge of fault finding, maintenance, and commissioning of industrial plant
  • Comprehensive understanding of HSSE systems and safe work environments
  • Proven ability to maintain and troubleshoot complex systems. Including experience in mechanical, electrical, control, and hydraulic components
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team with minimal supervision
  • Good IT office skills and familiarity with maintenance management through SAP, as well as good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • First Aid at Work, Working at Heights Training/Tower Rescue, offshore survival, and offshore medical certifications
  • Specific technical knowledge of the V112 wind turbine
  • Willingness to travel to support other sites, as well as having a full UK driving license

 

Advantageous, but not essential

  • Relevant HNC or equivalent qualification
  • Single/Multi Feed Senior Authorised Person under the OSR Safety Rules and perform High Voltage switching
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification
