RWE Renewables Offshore Wind is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join the Projects & Investments APAC team (P&I APAC). The P&I APAC team’s main responsibilities are to support the Offshore Wind business in developing business opportunities and taking the lead on all financial matters for the large scale offshore wind development projects. This includes driving the business case development, valuing projects and proposals, and driving the Investment Approval Process to deliver a clear articulation of opportunity and risk to management. The P&I department also serves as the governance function to ensure only fairly represented (challenging others when not) and appropriately analysed proposals reach the decision level. In addition, the P&I team partners with the business to understand key valuation drivers and dynamics, all to help guide tactical and strategic decision making.

Role & responsibilities

The position is a key financial lead role in the offshore wind project management team, working jointly with the Project Lead and our project partners in the project development. Key responsibilities include:

• Driving the economic business case optimization of the offshore wind projects and oversee the delivery of required financial elements for potential partnering processes, the securing of a competitive route to market and the progression of projects through development and preparation of FID. 
• Ensuring financial performance through regular review and monitoring of the project economics in development stage (pre and post route to market). 
• Working alongside the development and technical teams, overseeing the activities and coordination of finance and commercial workstreams including valuation, risk, insurance, controlling / reporting, project finance, procurement and tax.
• Representing project(s) from a finance perspective, report results to Project Lead/JV partners, to steering committees and senior management
• Represent project SPVs as well as RWER India towards potential lenders and financial advisors
• Key finance point of contact for JV partners and managing financial, risk and insurance external advisors, coordinating efforts on ensuring bankability of project structures incl. construction and operational contracts
• Overseeing the coordination and preparation of project approval papers to investment committees and board meetings at RWE headquarters in Germany
• Support the establishment of and continuous improvement of financial processes, ensuring best practice and RWE governance guidelines application across pipeline of projects
• Support the build-up of a local finance team in line with growth of development activities and progress on projects in the region. Work as hub to various management support functions provided from Europe.

Profile

• Broad finance background (including valuation, project financing, controlling) with accounting and contracting / procurement experience beneficial. University degree in business administration, banking or economics
• Experience in large scale projects, preferably in infrastructure / energy and offshore wind projects
• Management and communication skills, build trust and collaborative working relationships with internal and external parties, within India and internationally. Willingness to undertake required project related business trips 
• Fluent in English, other languages will be an advantage
