Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is part of the Accounting Team in Italy, reporting to the Finance Director in managing, processing and troubleshooting in accounting systems and managing the application of IFRS and Local Gaap principles. The resource will be involved in the application and supervision of financial processes and procedures with continuous dialogue with RWE Headquarter.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the Statutory Annual Accounts with related Note and Periodic financial statements; prepare documents, presentation for the BoD and SH discussion and presents them to the Board in periodic Meeting
  • Process balance sheet, income statements and other financial statements according accounting and financial guidelines
  • Review and audit financial statements and reports
  • Assist the financial director in creating financial reports on a regular basis
  • Adhere to the company's or organisation's financial policies and procedures Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations, reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and or clients
  • Prepare and process Fiscal Reports and manage fiscal requirements ( i.e. Intrastat, Esterometro, Vat documents and refund, SDI invoices…).
  • Ensure all calculations and data entries are correct in collaboration with SSC
  • Review and adhere to department budgets
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses as assigned
  • Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
  • Answers question and provide assistance to stakeholders, customers, and Vendors/clients as needed
  • Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers and senior executives
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information is accurate and immediately available
  • Follow the internal process for Extraordinary Operations i.e. M&A.

 

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a complex and multinational context
  • Experience in a Consultancy Company is a nice to have (i.e. Big Four)
  • IFRS and local accounting principles knowledge is a must have
  • Tax law knowledge will be an advantage
  • Good communication and relationship management skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at different levels
  • Good ability to work in a team and problem solving attitude
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines
  • Desire to continuously improve and challenge the status quo
  • Fluent English and Italian
