About the role
- Promote safety and compliance across offshore and onshore operations, maintaining a strong safety culture, assuring contractor adherence to agreed management systems, supporting emergency response, and leading investigations into significant incidents and near misses.
- Deliver production and availability targets by monitoring daily wind farm performance, losses and operational risks, maintaining effective operating procedures, and optimising generation while balancing safety, cost and risk.
- Act as operational owner of the OEM Service & Maintenance Agreement, managing performance across turbine availability, response and repair times, reliability, campaign delivery and safety, while verifying contractual calculations and driving improvement.
- Oversee the SOV-based maintenance model, coordinating OEM and embedded technicians, the vessel contractor, marine coordination, wind farm operations and the Central Control Room to maximise safe, productive offshore working time.
- Improve asset reliability and operational readiness through data-led trend analysis, root cause investigations, predictive and condition-based maintenance, seasonal planning, and effective management of major failures and repair campaigns.
- Represent the asset owner operationally, building effective relationships with the WTG OEM, SOV provider, Transmission Operator, regulators and internal teams, and providing clear reporting to the General Manager.
- Manage financial and commercial performance by supporting budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditure, assessing the impact of outages and underperformance, and developing business cases that improve production efficiency and lifecycle cost.
- Maintain regulatory assurance and records, ensuring compliance with offshore safety legislation, environmental permits, grid code, marine and aviation obligations, certification requirements and audit expectations.
Job requirements and experience
- Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in offshore wind operations or another process industry, including responsibility for the operational performance of large renewable energy assets.
- Experience managing OEM maintenance contracts, performance-based service agreements, budgets, contractors and stakeholder relationships within complex operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of wind turbine operations, turbine availability, production performance analysis and operational risk management.
- Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary operational teams, demonstrate safety leadership and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong analytical, communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, results-oriented and continuous improvement mindset.
Advantageous, but not essential
- Desirable experience with SOV-based operating models and the transition from warranty to long-term operations.
- Desirable knowledge of transmission systems and offshore substations.
