As a Senior Procurement Manager in our Global Construction Procurement team, you will support one or several of our offshore wind projects during the construction phase. Whilst the primary focus will be procurement and contract management of non-tier 1 construction contracts in offshore transport and installation (T&I) package of our NORFOLK Offshore Wind Project in UK.

 

Key Duties

  • Support our global offshore projects with an initial focus on Offshore Site Management Package (OSM);
  • Sourcing (relevant ITT & RFQ), awarding and contract handling all non-tier1 contracts during the construction phase, essential engagement in SAP.
  • Handling all commercial operations for the respective package, such as payment applications of the Contractors, forecasting costs etc.
  • Close collaboration with the logistic package team; advising on contractual and commercial issues, identifying risks and registering them in the system, reporting to the PM on regular basis.
  • Being the single point of contact for the Contractors regarding all commercial and contractual matters. These contracts are mainly; marine coordination works, service vessels, offshore resources and services, offshore communication systems, buoys, UXO, helicopter chartering, vessel audits etc.
  • Responsible for drafting of Employer communications and responding to Contractor’s correspondence;
  • Change management including variation order requests, issue variation order documentation and cost assessment/control.
  • Claim management including drafting the claim, collecting the evidence documents and cost input for all incoming/outgoing claims from/to the Contractors. Respective negotiations with the Contractors,
  • Providing Feed-in to the next tender process / collaboration with Category Supplier Relationship Management

 

Key Skills Required

 

  • Relevant university degree with preference for Engineering, Technician, Construction Management or Business Administration.
  • Experience of procurement and contract management including on offshore windfarms, offshore oil & gas or power station construction projects delivered under a multi contract contracting strategy;
  • Good understanding of offshore logistic package requirements during construction phase.
  • Ability to anticipate and manage contractual and commercial risks to maximize / minimize impacts to the project;
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and contract managing of construction claims
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and especially SAP. Ability to learn new processes and tools rapidly.
  • Readiness to travel internationally.
  • Team player with solid negotiation skills who can coordinate several project stakeholders during the construction phase.
  • Very good communication skills in English, both orally and written; additional language skills is beneficial.
