As a Senior Contract Manager in our Global Construction Procurement team, you will support one or several of our offshore wind farm projects globally during construction phase. Whilst the primary focus will be contract management of tier 1 / major contracts in offshore logistic package (T&I) in our NORFOLK Offshore Wind Farm Project in UK.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Contract management of high value, complex contracts to ensure contractual deliverables are met during the construction phase;
  • Close collaboration with PM and package teams; advising on contractual and commercial issues, identifying risks and minimizing impacts to the Project.
  • Being the single point of contact for the Contractor regarding all commercial matters and management of respective meetings.
  • Responsible for drafting of Employer communications and responding to Contractor’s correspondence;
  • Change management (variations/amendments) including cost assessment/control.
  • Claim management including drafting, substantiation and negotiation of the claim, specifically;
  • Tracking stand-by/downtimes during offshore T&I campaign, handling of extension of time and various offshore-specific claims during construction phase,
  • Reviewing daily progress reports (DPR) and project reports during offshore campaign.
  • Monitoring offshore construction and commissioning works
  • Handling contractual and commercial issues when and as they arise, such as contract amendments and settlements.
  • Coordinating all commercial operations for the respective package, such as processing payment applications of the Supplier, forecasting of costs and commercial reporting to the Project.
  • Undertaking procurement tasks for the respective package during construction phase (if and when needed), such as additional equipment/tools/scope of work to the package, effective use of SAP.

 

Key skills required

 

  • University degree in engineering, quantity surveying or technical studies in the relevant fields, possibly with relevant commercial qualification.
  • Experience in offshore wind, offshore oil & gas and power plant construction projects.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and managing of high value and high risk construction project claims.
  • Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office. 
  • Readiness to travel internationally when needed.
  • Team player with ability to manage several project stakeholders during the construction phase.
  • Intercultural understanding and experience in working with people from various cultures.
  • Very good communication skills in English, both orally and written; additional language skill is beneficial.
