Procurement O&M Major Components 12 month Internship

Functional area: Procurement
As an intern, you will support RWE Offshore Wind Procurement O&M Categories with key activities related to the procurement, transport and planning for major component spares. Including gearboxes, generators, blades, electrical modules, and other key categories. You will gain experience working as a global offshore wind leader in a vital department for our offshore wind operational assets and face, supporting both internal and external stakeholders needs to ensure the needs of our site are met.
During the placement, you will receive exposure to many aspects of procurement, and as such a degree of travel and time away from their base location may be required.
About the role:
- Supporting the implementation of procurement strategies for a wide range of commodities and services in support of our offshore wind operational sites
- Supporting major component category managers for procurement of major components for offshore wind assets
- Building good working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Assist the Project Procurement team with SAP data entry and SAP data extract analysis (e.g. Supplier spend data, pre-qualification of potential suppliers)
- Support high-value, strategic ‘one-off’ purchases via formal tender enquiries
- Provide support in actualising procurement strategy for our offshore wind major components purchasing
- Providing support in relation to day-to-day tracking and reporting activities using, for example, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and MS Word.
Job Requirements and Experience
- Great interest in offshore wind operations and technologies
- Ability to work well with others and can communicate clearly with key stakeholders and prioritise various tasks
- Have effective problem-solving skills for complicated and tough situations; being eager to learn and take onboard feedback from the category teams and offshore wind sites
- Highly proficient in English (spoken and written), with advanced MS Office skills
Advantageous, but not essential
- Previous experience gained in procurement or engineering
- Experience within offshore wind operation
There will be a requirement to have a weekly onsite presence in our London office, with the flexibility to work from home as well.
