As a Junior Oil Trader on our London-based Oil Trading Desk, you will join a globally active team trading crude oil, oil products, oil freight and related commodities.

This is a rare opportunity to join a successful trading team where the expectation is clear: to continuously develop and execute profit-generating strategies in highly competitive global oil derivatives markets.

From an early stage, you will contribute to meaningful financial performance while developing and testing your own ideas.

About the role

• Contribute to the development and execution of profit-generating trading strategies across crude oil, oil products, oil freight and related derivatives
• Trade futures and financial swaps for crude oil and refined products within agreed risk limits
• Analyse global market dynamics to identify commercial opportunities
• Develop, test and refine your own market views within the desk’s proprietary trading framework
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across locations to maximise shared insights and overall desk performance

Job requirements and experience

• Experience trading Gasoline / Naphtha / NGLs  or experience building fundamental analytical models of oil balances
• Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of P&L drivers and risk/reward dynamics
• Analytical capability to translate market fundamentals and positioning into structured trading ideas
• Willingness to take calculated risks and be entrepreneurial, exploring new approaches and challenging views with bold yet well-structured ideas
• Strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility for outcomes and demonstrating accountability in position management and execution discipline
• Collaborative mindset aligned with #TeamRWE, working across geographies, sharing market insights and contributing to the success of the desk.

Advantageous, but not essential

• Experience in oil logistics / oil analysis / vessel tracking
