London Array is a 630MW Windfarm based in Ramsgate Kent, UK. It consists of 175

Siemens 3.6Mw G4 Wind Turbines and associated HV systems.

Working within a site based team of circa 70 people and reporting into the Engineering

Manager, the Operations Engineer – BOP & Marine will work alongside the other

Operations Engineers.

The role will Provide Engineering expertise to the London Array Offshore Wind Farm

Operations & Maintenance Team through Engineering and Maintenance Asset reviews,

reactive and proactive asset management and continuous improvement projects.

Ensuring the safe operation, engineering health, integrity and performance of the asset, in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner, maximising the commercial benefit within legal requirements.

 

The role is hybrid based, with flexibility required as and when demands occur, but typically the role will require site presence 3 days per a week.

 

About the role

 

  • Drive engineering activities to deliver competitive and optimized decisions. In particular co-ordination of: Management of problem identification to business case through to delivery; Reporting activities for fault and improvement investigation
  • Asset Management (planned, corrective, and proactive Maintenance Management)
  • Management of reactive/breakdown events with clear decisions and RCA Analysis
  • Long term maintenance strategy ownership including budget determination and control of in year budget
  • Maintain and develop H&S within the team and working environment and Onsite coordination of marine licenses and interface with external stakeholders
  • Report and defect analysis to manage risk and asset integrity, Define scopes and supervise Contracts and Contractors in the delivery against agreed work scopes
  • Ensure that work is completed to a Quality standard and work is closed out with full history of issues and documentation
  • Support continuous improvement within workstreams; with a particular focus on safety, project economics, Maintain robust documentation of your workstreams and any resulting design decisions with supporting evidence
  • Act as the bridge to the energy production and loss disciplines - provide technical review and alignment as the project develops
  • For innovation management: manage integration of innovation workstreams, coordinate feasibility assessments, business case inputs, and documentation as required to deliver adoption decisions and deliver the maximum value into projects
  • Work closely with Central expertise to manage risk

 

 

Knowledge and skills Required

 

  • High level of Competency with Marine related issues, such as Bathymetry surveys, subsea inspections, UXO studies, sandbanks and equipment relating to those exposed areas
  • Understanding of marine management systems and processes such as marine licensing and environmental considerations
  • Understand the Structural interface of WTG and OSS including cables
  • Experience with the risks of operating in these Marine locations and defining the engineering risks and mitigations for equipment working in those areas
  • Degree from an accredited university in relevant background or significant relevant experience
  • Able to make informed decisions and take action, awareness of WTG and OSS equipment especially in mechanical and civil failure modes
  • Experience of engineering system risk and design, optimization, and cost and schedule modelling
  • Familiar with industry codes and standards applicable to offshore wind projects.
  • Willingness to innovate and challenge the status quo with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally and to perform relevant offshore safety trainings and “go” offshore for certain
