Engineering Lead – Gas Cluster Emsland
As the Engineering Lead (EL) for the Gas Cluster Emsland within Gas Engineering and Outage (E&O) you are responsible for the cross discipline coordination of all E&O activities at the Assets within that Cluster. You will ensure the agreed engineering & outage strategies are being delivered as envisaged. The needed engineering expertise and resource will be provided by the E&O discipline teams.
You will work closely with the asset Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams as well as the Asset Management Partner (AMP) and the wider E&O Teams to improve technical performance, address emergent issues requiring engineering involvement and support the effective delivery of projects including Outages.
You will work closely with other EL’s within the wider RWE portfolio gaining an understanding of best practice in role delivery and promoting a continuous improvement approach.

About the role

  • E&O Point of contact for asset O&M and AM.
  • Coordinate specific technical / engineering scoping for outages and larger modification projects, e.g. complex issues requiring expert knowledge or emergent and complex maintenance activities above a certain threshold.
  • Drive and perform short term technical analysis on emergent issues (RCA, risk evaluation and management, etc.).
  • Bring together Engineering meetings and project/outage teams to review, develop and deliver solutions.
  • Coordinate and collate the detailed Engineering Budget Preparation & Budget Management (including outages) for all allocated asset Engineering activities and support the formulation of the asset Business Plan.
  • Support the planning, execution and review of overhauls, larger projects & modifications together with asset O&M and AM teams in a safe and timely manner 
  • Deliver and further develop overarching asset E&O strategy working collaboratively with O&M / AM.


Job requirements and experience

  • Degree in engineering (e.g. mechanical engineering, process engineering or electrical engineering) or comparable.
  • Experience in dealing with engineering issues and project management across all technical disciplines. 
  • Strong capabilities for the successful coordination of multi-discipline resources.
  • Demonstration of complex thinking skills, including both analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Collaborative approach in focusing, targeting and building effective relationships to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Readiness to travel to various sites 2-3 days a week, but could be longer during intense periods (e.g. during outages).
  • Fluent in German and English languages.
