The Senior Operations Engineer Electrical Systems & S-VEFK Nordseecluster leads the performance of engineering tasks and project management in the area of HV and LV electrical systems, Control and Instrumentation systems and auxiliary systems for two offshore substations, 104 WTGs and electrical Balance of Plant systems. He acts as the nominated S-VEFK for the Nordseecluster Windfarm. He plays a leading role in defining and implementing electrical switching procedures during the implementation phase and the operational phase afterwards of the wind farm.

 

About the role:

  • Develop and implement engineering and condition-based maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve measured site performance for all electrical systems of the windfarm
  • Act as nominated Standort-VEFK for Nordseecluster fulfilling all related functions
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and rules as well as the operating license, project-specific (re-)certification and compliance with all necessary regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the construction phase of the project by defining electrical processes and optimizing the interfaces to the TSOs
  • Participating in the investigation and assessment of complex damage (e.g. root cause analysis) in collaboration with the relevant operating engineers and central teams of experts
  • Application of SAP PM, MM and SAP Invoice Management to ensure a smooth maintenance process
  • Functional leadership of a sub-team of electrical Engineers
  • Ensuring appropriate service campaigns on electrical assets in collaboration with the team of service technicians
  • Control the interface to the RWE Central Control Room

 
Job requirements and experience:

  • Completed university degree (Diploma/Bachelor/Master) in a Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of professional experience preferably in the offshore wind industry in the field of operations
  • Certified as Verantwortliche Elektrofachkraft (VEFK) according to DIN VDE 1000-10 and DIN VDE 0105-100
  • Thorough technical expertise and several years of experience in the field of maintenance and repair of offshore wind electrical systems
  • Experience with SAP systems (PM, MM etc.), as well as SCADA and other technical remote support systems a valuable asset
  • Ability to manage and develop technical documentation
  • Willingness and ability to work offshore and at height
  • Very good language skills German and English

 

The working location for the initial period is Hamburg. The working location will change to the Leer area once the Nordseecluster office in the Leer area is available in 2026. Flexible arrangements around the location Hamburg can be agreed.
