Senior Marine Project Manager d/f/m Subsea & Cables

Our Marine Logistics and Supply Chain department within RWE Offshore Operations is looking for a Senior Marine Project Manager (Subsea and Cables) to manage fleet-wide cable repair and subsea campaigns and other marine operations. You will be working together with responsible colleagues at sites, O&M Optimisation Managers for EC&I and Cables, as well as engineering functions to effectively manage the execution of cable repair & maintenance campaigns and plan proactive mitigation and subsea campaigns across the fleet.

About the role

• Lead major marine subsea campaigns through the entire project lifecycle, using cable lay, subsea construction or support vessels and execute the technical cable maintenance & repair strategy
• Act as contract manager for vessel contracts and portfolio frameworks and perform active supplier management
• Lead onboard project managers and marine engineers and steer campaign execution
• Manage the technical part of the vessel or service procurement process by performing project management and driving the tender processes and contractual negotiations 
• Coordinate internal and external parties, departments, functions and tasks, such as scheduling, engineering, insurance, certification, marine coordination, HSSE, sites, local authorities, vessel suppliers etc.
• Develop strategies for cable logistics and improve logistical performance, support technical risk management and strategies
• Approve risk assessments, method statements, lift plans and operating instructions
• Monitor spare parts, tooling, resources, vessel performance and availability 

Job requirements and experience

• Relevant background as an Offshore/ Marine Engineer, Marine Project Manager or Master Mariner,
• Experience in subsea campaigns as a management function required
• Deep understanding and proven operational experience of relevant vessel operations 
• At least five years' experience in marine & offshore project management
• Excellent skills of written and spoken English language
• Very good communication skills
• Structured thinking, independent development of methods and procedures
• Willingness to travel (UK/CE) and willingness to work offshore for limited periods
