You will work as a Senior Grid Integration and Studies Engineer for the Electrical System & Project Engineering Region 1 Team, part of the RWE Renewables’ Offshore Wind Engineering Department. You will supervise all tasks related to power system analysis and grid code compliance in our Offshore Substation and therewith support our projects under development and in construction with responsibilities including:

Ensuring a robust and efficient through life design of the projects’ electrical system supporting on all aspects of the generation and transmission system up to the grid interface point

Drafting of specifications dealing with power system studies, models and grid code compliance for the tender and subsequent technical negotiation with selected suppliers

Specific focus on power system analysis in the time/frequency domain with PSCAD and/ or Power Factory e.g. harmonics stability, control stability and control concepts

Root Cause Analysis in case of electrical faults as well as Grid Code Compliance Tests

Standardisation of power system analysis approaches and system design

Conduct or develop internal and external research projects
Your profile
-
Degree of university (PHD in a relevant topic can be advantageous)

Very good Knowledge of power system analysis in theory and practice (PSCAD and/or Power Factory)

At least 4 years experience with relevant power system analysis studies

Experience of specification drafting as well as liaising and negotiating with suppliers

Experience with relevant standards and grid codes

Fluent in English (speaking and writing)

Effective communication and coordination skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful
