As Senior Finance Manager Offshore, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all financial and commercial matters related to one or more offshore wind farms. This includes preparing and presenting relevant financial metrics, managing budgets and approval processes, and actively contributing to the improvement of the wind farm’s financial performance. In this role, you will be part of the international offshore controlling team as well as the wind farms’ senior leadership team.

The Role

• You are responsible for the financial management and financial performance measurement of the offshore wind farms, as well as for all other financial and commercial decision-making processes
• You serve as the central point of contact for other financial functions such as Accounting, Controlling, Procurement, Insurance, Tax, and Legal, and ensure that RWE’s financial processes, guidelines, and best practices are adhered to and applied.
• You are responsible for medium-term planning and forecasting processes for multiple wind farms (MTP, LTP, and forecasts) as well as monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Your responsibilities include ensuring a long-term, value-oriented view of the financial situation and performance of the wind farms, including participation in internal and external benchmarks and the provision of the necessary information.
• In your role, you will independently prepare decision-making documents for key approvals and be responsible for the necessary economic analyses.
• Your additional responsibilities include independent contract and receivables management as well as risk and insurance management. In this context, you will assist with the following tasks:
  • Coordinating complex contractual disputes (e.g., claims after the warranty period has expired) as well as commercial and technical complaints for all relevant contracts in close collaboration with the Procurement, Legal, Operations, and, if necessary, other departments.
  • Implementation and further development of processes to ensure compliance with quality and compliance standards in the management of commercial processes
  • Financial risk reporting, including risk mitigation measures in collaboration with Operations Management
  • Development of the interface with RWE Insurance and processing of insurance claims

Job requirements ans experience

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or another technical degree with a focus on finance
• In addition, you have several years of relevant experience in the energy sector as well as relevant experience in the areas of Controlling, Finance, Asset Management, or Investment Management
• Your experience includes project, contract, and risk management as well as experience in project financing and other forms of financing.
• You have experience managing joint venture structures or complex stakeholder management, including within the context of international corporations
• You possess strong communication skills, excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, assertiveness, and a confident demeanor when presenting to large groups or top management.
• Very strong business acumen with experience in an international environment
• A proactive, reliable, and structured approach to work
• Business-level proficiency in German and English
