You will work as a Senior Electrical  Project Engineer for the Electrical System & Project Engineering Region 1 Team, part of the RWE Renewables’ Offshore Wind Engineering Department. You will lead electrical engineering tasks on our Offshore Substations  and also support projects in development and construction.

 

Your future tasks:

 

  • Ensuring a robust through life design leading  on all aspects of the electrical components and the overall electrical system of an offshore substation
  • Development, drafting and technical management of specifications for tenders. Support the technical negotiations with selected suppliers.
  • Strong focus on interface topics and the auxiliary systems
  • Coordinate the support of other experts and Electrical Engineers within the  the department with a focus on Components, Power System Analysis and SCADA systems.
  • Lead supplier pre-qualifications and audits
  • Technical management of electrical works on project  construction sites
  • Factory and Site Acceptance Tests
  • Conduct or lead internal and external research projects

 

 

Your profile:

 

  • Minimum 4 years experience with offshore substations on offshore wind projects, ideally you will have worked in the same role through the negotiation and construction phases of an offshore wind project.
  • Degree of university or of university of applied sciences in electrical power engineering
  • Practical knowledge and experience will be crucial for the role. Experience as an apprentice and having worked as a technician/electrician prior to obtaining the university degree would be desirable.
  • Good Knowledge of the electrical plant including switchgear, power transformers, protection, LV  and auxiliary systems  (advantageous: with one of these topics as a specialists)
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
  • Experience of specification drafting as well as liaising and negotiating with suppliers
  • Excellent communication, coordination and leadership skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful
