Join RWE as a Project Commercial Manager – Focused on Strategic Supplier Engagement
Are you a commercially driven professional with experience in sales, contract negotiation, or business development in the renewable energy space? Have you worked closely with procurement or legal teams on complex EPC or BoP deals? Then this role could be your next big step.
We’re looking for commercially minded individuals – including those from OEMs or service providers – who understand the language of contracts, customer needs, and strategic supplier relationships.
As a Project Commerical Manager within RWE’s Europe & APAC Procurement team, you'll act as a key commercial interface for our growing Onshore Wind, PV, and BESS projects in Germany. Your background in sales or account management from the OEM side gives you a natural advantage—you’ll be engaging with similar supplier-side counterparts, aligning commercial strategy with technical execution, and driving outcomes across the full project lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead tenders and negotiations for large and complex project contracts in PV, BESS, and Wind—your negotiation expertise and commercial acumen will be key.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project and portfolio goals.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for suppliers and subcontractors across development and construction phases.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, audits, and conflict resolution—just like you've done in sales or key account management.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Risk teams to align contract structures and commercial terms.
- Leverage your understanding of the market to support cost-benefit analyses and strategic decision-making.
Your Profile:
- Experience in commercial sales, key account management, or contract negotiation, ideally in the PV, BESS, or Wind sectors—or broader power/infrastructure industries.
- Background in working with or for OEMs or EPC contractors, particularly in contract-heavy environments (Capex / Opex).
- A strong grasp of supplier dynamics and what drives business success from the vendor side.
- A natural communicator who thrives on building and maintaining key relationships.
- Fluent in German (C1) and English.
- A solution-oriented mindset, excited to be part of a growing business shaping the energy future.
