Offshore Consent & Environmental Manager (d/f/m)

The role is based in Hamburg, however, travel across Germany and within some of the Central Europe countries will be required as part of the role on a regular basis and working from outside the office is possible. You will be a core part of the Development team helping to support our projects through the development and construction stages

 

You will also be expected to take a dynamic and proactive role in supporting the Development Team in strategic environmental matters and consenting consultations. 

 

The role will also work closely with the projects leads, projects development managers, bid managers, package managers and the others environmental  & consents managers within the group of specific offshore wind projects.  The scope of work also encompasses support to adjacent markets including Netherlands, Belgium, Germany.

 

Your future plans:

  • Lead on consent compliance for offshore, collate and maintain the relevant information and liaise with statutory authorities, package managers and contractors.
  • Lead on ensuring consents are discharged and complied with the auctions rules, for the initial Operations and Maintenance phase of the project and support the O&M team in setting out ongoing consents requirements and obtaining necessary consents
  • Responsible for securing additional environmental consents and licences and processing consent or licence amendments as necessary for construction or survey work and Provide expertise into Environmental Monitoring activities during construction and operations.
  • Input into strategic consultations produced by external statutory consultees or research and monitoring projects, where relevant to your specific project or market. This may include environmental impact studies via the relevant associations, e. g. German BWO in order to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the current environmental best practice, consenting framework and strategic opportunities.
  • Engage in pro-active identification of innovative technology opportunities which could reduce the environmental lifecycle footprint of a windfarm and supporting its commercialization
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day management of the offshore environment & consents compliance plan and programme, including delivery of key consents milestones, environmental studies and definition of specific mitigations ERC according to the project characteristics
  • Develop strong working relationships across the Project to ensure consent requirements and measures to reduce the environmental lifecycle footprint of a wind farm are integrated into all relevant contracts and project design and there is continual consent compliance.
  • Responsible in the implementation of the best practices in respect of the maritime environment in order to advice the projects team on the environmental program that shall be implemented to comply with the specific environmental stakes of the projects
  • Responsible for the environmental aspects of the offshore consents programme reporting, risk management, interface-  and budget management.
  • Cooperation in working groups initiated by associations or authorities to gain knowledge of the current environmental best practice and to feed in experience from the RWEr projects

 

Your profile:

  • Completed university degree in environmental studies or comparable
  • Demonstrable competence in environment, consenting, licensing or related fields, with specific experience working on offshore wind
  • Several years of working experience in the offshore wind sector
  • Excellent project management skills and experience of managing large projects to tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) in German and English and ability to communicate complex technical issues to stakeholders and package managers
  • Good people management skills
