A role providing safety rules authority and the co-ordination of performance optimisation as a member of the Humber Gateway Production team, leading efforts to improve the asset. This position will support strategies linked to the long-term Humber Gateway vision and team culture.
Using smart tools and digital performance methods to identify areas for operational optimisation, ensuring the integrity and performance of the wind farm assets are in line with industry best practice, whilst maximising the commercial benefit.
Manage and deliver joint venture MOMA operations reports, co-ordinate meetings and respond to technical queries on behalf of the service provider to the Humber Wind JV Board, representing RWE on operational, commercial, financial and insurance topics.
About the role
- Ownership of the RWE WTSR ruleset as the Authorising Officer for Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm whilst ensuring statutory legislation is adhered to and applied to plant operation and maintenance
- Managing the administration and development of Location Instructions (LI’s), the implementation of the rules and the training and development of personnel
- Manage the continuous improvement of the asset by defining KPI’s, report preparation and reviewing data sets to establish smarter maintenance strategies and ways of working
- Govern the preparation of safe systems of work offshore which tie into the WTSR ruleset
- Assist the Production Manager in defining the annual MTP production forecast, operational finance budgets and longer-term plans along with the wider SLT
- Shape strategic initiatives that support Humber Gateway's long-term vision and the self-perform operating approach
- Support site-based teams to quantify operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and facilitating projects to implement continuous improvement
- Preparation and presentation of operational reports, additional service proposals and responding to technical matters relating to the operation of the asset
Role requirements and experience
- Completed an engineering apprenticeship qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline and have operational wind farm O&M experience
- Authorising Engineer and Authorised Technician under the RWE WTSR
- Safety Co-ordinator and SAP authorisation under RWE Operational Safety Rules
- Several years of experience in the energy business, preferably within the wind industry. Experience in asset operations within a utility or similar is beneficial
- An extensive understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and standards, qualified to NEBOSH/IOSH standard as appropriate, or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of the development of safe systems of work and the supporting literature
- Understanding of the offshore wind industry and the Vestas V112 turbine platform
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships across the business and the wider Renewables industry
Advantageous, but not essential
- A suitable engineering degree, HNC or equivalent, plus extensive experience in an appropriate engineering discipline
This is a site-based role, and the successful candidate must live within a one-hour radius.
