Maintenance Engineer - Triton Knoll

As a Maintenance Engineer you will provide specialised maintenance support to the wind farm operations, covering 90 wind turbines, foundations, array cables and a 24hr control facility. You will need to ensure all maintenance workflow processes operate as designed, using KPI’s and metrics to monitor performance and optimise activities.

 

About the role

  • Responsible for managing the long term planning of all maintenance activities on site
  • Manage and develop the condition based monitoring processes for the site
  • Routine monitoring of the CMMS (SAP) including producing and reporting relevant KPI’s to site management
  • Optimising and refining the maintenance strategy following RCM principles to ensure efficiency and best value for the business
  • Working closely with the engineers and operations team to ensure optimal planning of resources, plant downtime and the continued asset integrity through life
  • Execution and day to day management of certain activities e.g. inspection campaigns
  • Support failure investigations as required and continuous improvement at the work place
  • Enact the role of Authorising Engineer under the RWE Renewables Wind Turbine Safety Rules for the V164 9.5MW MK2B at Triton Knoll
  • Fulfil the requirements of the WTSR and produce required documentation (SRIC, RAMS to facilitate the creation of a robust safe system of work for self-performance of operations and maintenance at the wind farm)
  • Engage with the safety rules team to ensure Triton Knoll:
    • receives training, documentation, etc in a timely manner
    • remains compliant with company standards and acts as a centre of best practice in safe systems of work
  • Perform mentoring, specify training and provide coaching to operations personnel to ensure the WTSR is able to be administered autonomously within the wind farm

 

Job requirements and experience

  • Maintenance specialist experienced in a power generation or heavy industry environment
  • HNC with experience or an engineering degree
  • Hold an existing AE status for a WTG, preferably on a V164
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Solid communication skills and an ability to engage specialists on complex operations
  • Process driven with an interest in continuous improvement
  • Experience of managing budgets and contractors
  • Willing to align with offshore operational needs and able to undertake short-duration offshore assignments
  • Comfortable inspecting components offshore, often while working at height or in restricted spaces
  • Comfortable working in an office environment, assessing large quantities of multidisciplinary engineering information to provide solutions via reports and presentations

 

There will be an expectation to travel to other offices and sites outside of your base location (including Europe/Overseas) which may involve overnight stays.
