As a working student, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the continuous achievement of technical and commercial excellence across all gas cluster generation plants within our pan-European business, boasting a generation capacity exceeding 16,000 MW.

 

Your role will encompass supporting the plants and the Engineers, using predictive analytics and, as well as engaging in portfolio-wide analyses, reports, and improvement measures. You will become part of the RIEO-Taskforce (Reliability, Integrity, Efficiency Optimisation) within the Information and Analytics team within Gas Asset Management.

 

About the role

  • Assisting in the derivation, analysis, and effective presentation of data and information for the company, in close collaboration with colleagues, in asset-based and portfolio roles.
  • Maintaining and utilising plant modelling tools to proactively identify issues, thereby optimising the performance and availability of our power plants.
  • Participating in the digitalisation of RWE Generation through lighthouse projects such as “Centralised Performance Monitoring” and “Mara” (Maintenance & Asset Reliability Assistant).
  • Aiding in the automated evaluation of operational data.

 

Job requirements and experience

  • Advanced studies (at least 4th semester) in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Natural Sciences with demonstrably excellent academic performance.
  • Technical acumen, quick comprehension, and strong analytical and conceptual abilities to delve into energy technology topics.
  • High standards for work quality, supported by a structured approach, analytical thinking, and a hands-on attitude.
  • Independent working capability in virtual, analogue, and hybrid environments, coupled with team spirit and effective communication.
  • Proficient in German and English, both written and spoken.

 

Advantageous, but not essential

  • Initial experience with Condition Monitoring Tools (e.g., SPC, Smart Signal, etc.) and/or context-based analysis tools (e.g., Seeq, Visplore, etc.).
  • Completed modules in Thermodynamics and/or process engineering.
