Working Student Portfolio & Quantitative Analysis d/f/m

The working student will be part of the Global Portfolio & Modelling department of RWE Supply and Trading GmbH (RWEST). The team is responsible for quantitative modelling activities within RWEST's Commercial area responsible for individual Asset and Portfolio Analysis. The modelling in the team covers best-in-class asset and portfolio optimisation, risk analysis, pricing and forecasting tools for commercial revenues of energy storage technologies, renewables, conventional and hybrid assets. As a global function, the team covers all markets with activities by the RWE group in Americas, EU and APAC (Asia Pacific).

 

About the role

  • You will strengthen the team with your knowledge in and passion for the following activities: 
  • Optimise portfolio management and reporting by implementing automation and database tools.
  • Build and maintain databases of RWE’s assets and price data and develop data pipelines to ensure seamless integration and data quality across portfolio management tools.
  • Support in the development of front-end user interfaces for various tools and applications.
  • Enhance data-driven decision-making by building, testing, and scaling models for data validation, transformation and reporting within our portfolio ecosystem.
     

Job requirements and experience

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's program with strong academic standing Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics / Statistics, or a related quantitative field. 
  • Progress: At least three completed semesters if pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; at least two semesters remaining if in a Master’s program.
  • Experience in Python and familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL) is highly valued.
  • Work Style: Structured, independent, and reliable, with a proactive approach to new tasks.
  • Communication: Able to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Team-Oriented: Thrives in an open-feedback, collaborative environment and is eager for personal and professional growth.
  • Language: Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
